We use a blended learning model:
- Online theory is completed through our learner portal, at the student’s own pace.
- Practical assessment is completed onsite with our qualified trainers.
This model reduces downtime and travel costs for your business. If you are an existing client, you may be eligible to undertake the practical observation via livestream. Contact our student support Team to find out more.
Yes, we deliver training Australia wide. Travel costs like flights, accommodation and car hire may apply.
We require a minimum of 5 students to deliver training. We can also support larger groups or discuss bundled course delivery for multiple skillsets.
No, we require group bookings for a minimum of 5 participants. If you have under 5 staff who require training, we can pass your details onto one of our training partners. Contact us and we’ll find the best solution.
Yes. Under AS/NZS 4233, refresher training is required every 2 years for the following units of competency:
- MSMWJ202 Use high pressure water jetting equipment
- MSMWJ304 Operate a high pressure water jetting system
- MSMWJ305 Operate a drain cleaning system
- MSMWJ307 Operate a hydro excavation system
We make this easy through our online model—ideal for keeping your workforce compliant with minimal disruption.
Absolutely. Many clients bundle MSMSS00019 Operate a drain cleaning system and MSMSS00021 Operate a hydro excavation system. Bundling saves time and cost—talk to us about the best fit for your crew.
The time to complete the theory will vary from participant to participant depending on their prior experience in the industry and their digital literacy. A full course could take between 8 -10 hours to complete the theory and 3 – 5 hours for a refresher course. Participants do not need to complete the learning in one long session. Our learner portal saves their progress so a participant can do an hour here or 2 hours there. It’s very flexible.
Yes. Upon successful completion of the theory and practical assessment, students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the relevant skillset.
Lead time vary but usually we are booking courses 2 – 3 months in advance. Generally, we don’t book course less than 4 weeks in advance. Act fast to avoid missing out!

What is the definition of a Class B pump?
According to AS 4233.1, High pressure water jetting systems with an output capability greater than 800 bar litres per minute and less than 5600 bar litres per minute are identified as Class A. Systems with an output capability in excess of 5600 bar litres per minute are identified as Class B.
- Class A – 800 – 5600 bar litres per minute.
- Class B – Above 5600 bar litres per minute.
To establish the pump’s rating multiply the pump’s maximum flow in litres per minute by the maximum pressure in bar. These details can be identified on the pump compliance plate.
Example: A high pressure water jetting pump with a maximum flow of 19 litres per minute and a maximum pressure of 2,500 bar has an output of 47,500 bar litres per minute. This pump would be rated Class B. 19 x 2,500 = 47,500.
Trainright does not deliver training for Class A pumps. We recommend contacting AUS Jet. AUS Jet deliver the following course online:
